Take the longest gondola in the world over the Pacific Ocean and visit Vinpearl! For only the equivelant of $20, you get the world’s longest gondola to ride on (twice, no less!), an amusement park with rides and games, a water park with slides and a wave pool (perfect to lose your glasses in!) and a lazy river that really is the laziest activity you’ll ever do in your life! You also get very strange entertainment (Youtube video forthcoming), okay food if you can get away from the worst “fast food” stalls in the world, and a pretty awesome view of mainland Nha Trang, Vienam. You’ll also find yourself in love with the 100% free video game arcade! At the end of the day, this pseudo-Disney-esque provides you with a strangely surreal experience mixing lots of Russian tourists with lots of Vietnamese tourists. It’s easy to feel a bit uneasy in this cloistered area after a handful of hours, but the fun is worth it . . . right?

Ah! Nha Trang, Vietnam. I feel like Anthony Bourdain sighing before making an enlightening, relaxed complimentary statement on an amazing culture with an amazing cuisine. Well, Nha Trang for us was a magical place. Truly majestic–one of the best views of the ocean we got in all our travels. As if coming full circle, Jason and I were able to stay in the Sheraton in Nha Trang, a fancy hotel perhaps along the lines of our initial stay at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The hotel room was luxurious, the bathroom extremely unique, and the hotel proper a place of multiple restaurants, a steam room, a sauna, and hot tub whirlpool, a huge pool, and more. Yes, it was a fantastic space, and yes, we enjoyed our time there, and yes, we needed the rest and relaxation. On top of everything, we were able to find our way out of the hotel on occasion to visit a mall, a Cham temple, a huge market (perhaps the largest we came across?), and several amazing bars and clubs. We also visited the VinPearl park, but more on that in the next post. First, though, let’s start with some images of the flight from Da Nang to Nha Trang:

At around a dollar for entry, there is no reason to skip over this Cham-built temple complex. Though it was so hot outside I could barely think, I was still able to snap a few pictures of Po Nagar after eating an ice cream. I had had the displeasure too of seeing a couple of Eastern Europeans (guy and girl) making suggestive serial gestures on some of the goddess statues, but that negative image was counteracted by an adorable Asian girl curiously following some grey-robed individuals around (see below). Here are the pics I took from my phone:
