We hadn’t really heard much about the demonstrations in Thailand, and as we learned more and more about the differences between the red and yellow shirts, we grew more and more surprised by how similar these events were to liberal/progressive protests in the USA. That being said, there was plenty of absurdity here as well, where political action was meeting consumerism head-on. First, a wedding dress shop was donating its front steps to serve as tshirt distribution center:
